Self - Care

I went to St. Bonaventure University from the 12th to the 15th of June.  Working on and hoping to obtain a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  

Figured I am 54 years old, the 2nd youngest of 7 kids (5 sisters and 1 brother), was in the Navy for 23 years, - or as I call those things - a lot of experience or case studies to talk about.    

The Dr. that taught us the class on Self-Care did stress that we need to do something to keep us healthy.  She has a yoga mat in her office that she uses from time to time - not me.  I will pass on that for now.  

I got some home work done earlier in the day and when I got home from work - I fixed the small gas leak and then took the truck for an 8.87 mile ride - with no training wheels (meaning no one was following me just in case).  
It ran well, but after shutting it down it overheats - not sure if this is normal or not, but that is what it does.  
It is an hour till bed time - guess I will continue with the self care for the rest of the night.

I will hit the books again in the morning when my baby gets up to go to the gym at 0430.

Bob Stein from church came over to look at the truck - just in conversation at church - learned he worked on classic cars when he was in college and is currently helping someone with a Model T - pretty cool.  We tried starting it up but had no success and of course that got us both into figuring out why - since it started up the last 2 days.   He asked all the questions about what we have been doing with the car and then the fun began for the day. Horn Works - Klaxon - 8C 6volts

Thanks to my brother-in-law Eugene and my Nephew Dave (good name) we got a lot of the electrical working on Sunday - 24 June.  I was in the house when I heard the distinct noise that brought me back to my submarine days - Dive - Dive - Dive - alright maybe not exactly the same - but still a good and distinct noise that got some neighbors out of the house to come over and inspect what was going on.    So - the horn has been working on and off - seems it works for like 3-4 blasts and then it stops.  So I took it apart and checked it out, cleaned what I could and put it all together. I didn't put it back in the truck because it is like 100 degrees outside today. Here are some of the pieces I was working on in the house with A/C. Back in Time

I did a few Google searches of the previous owner - trying to get maybe a picture of him and the truck or some family members, or even some articles on the many awards that he won with the truck in car shows - not having much luck.   Today I reached out to his Son for some help in getting something from the past to post and hopefully in time I can update the blog with something from the past.  In the mean time - with the truck came  16 awards, 4 plaques and 1 Ribbon.  My goal is to clean up an award every month and to post it and by the time I am done with cleaning them all, I will hopefully have the truck up and running and in my first show.  I will put the awards in order and go from there.
