Self - Care

Self - Care I went to St. Bonaventure University from the 12th to the 15th of June.  Working on and hoping to obtain a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.   Figured I am 54 years old, the 2nd youngest of 7 kids (5 sisters and 1 brother), was in the Navy for 23 years, - or as I call those things - a lot of experience or case studies to talk about.     The Dr. that taught us the class on Self-Care did stress that we need to do something to keep us healthy.  She has a yoga mat in her office that she uses from time to time - not me.  I will pass on that for now.   I got some home work done earlier in the day and when I got home from work - I fixed the small gas leak and then took the truck for an 8.87 mile ride - with no training wheels (meaning no one was following me just in case).   It ran well, but after shutting it down it overheats - not sure if this is normal or not, but that is what it does.   It is an hour till bed time - guess I will continue w

Father's Day 2019

Well, I got a surprise for Father's Day from my Boo.   It might not of been a surprise if I had a Facebook page, as it looks like everyone knew before me what I was getting - but I like NOT having a Facebook page. When I first bought the truck the previous owners' son told me that if I just Googled 1927 Chevy Truck there would be a picture of the truck and his Dad.  Well that did not work for me at all.  I even wrote a small blog about my research and the fact that I could not find anything.   But my baby did. Seems there is a difference when you Google something and you Google IMAGE something. Thanks baby. I love you and thanks for the picture.

Thursday, I took the truck down to the church - 3.1 miles one way - for a test run before I had to go for inspection on the 7th.  Worked great, still have some leaking oil, antifreeze and gas, but otherwise it ran good. On the 7th of June 2019, and after some horn issues getting worked out, I drove the truck to Monroe Auto Shop in Queensbury to get inspected.  I told the manager Mike that I would be there at 0730, but I arrived around 1030.  The shop was happy to see the truck and the inspection went well.  Thanks to my sister Kathy for following me the 7 miles - one way - I needed to go for the inspection.  There was a line of traffic behind us, but I don't think people cared.  People were waving and giving me the thumbs up - okay - I thought it was a thumbs up............. On the way home, I stopped by Randy's Barber Shop in Hudson Falls to show him the truck and got to talking with someone about the upcoming car shows.  Just need to give my baby a bath and some shin
