Where There is Smoke - Yeah - it's true.

Image
There is Fire Felt pretty good with the truck - all rebuilt or new parts, all wires checked for loose connections, starting up on a regular basis, made it around the development 3 times without breaking down for the Memorial Day Parade.  Okay so we had to push it into the garage once the parade was over, but overall, all seems(ed) good. Bad News = after the parade we had to push it in the garage because for some reason the push button starter button would not work. Bad News - after charging the battery for 24 hours - still nothing when pressing on the starter button. Good News - I went for it with the hand crank - 3/4 turn and it fired right up. - Way too cool. Good News - fired it up again with the hand crank. Good News - Push button started working. Let's take a ride to church and back - no problem. Let it sit outside of the garage to cool down before I drove it in the garage for the day. Well, yeah, where there is smoke = there is fire. Time to fire

Memorial Day Parade 2020

It is 9 o'clock in the morning on Memorial Day and I am getting the truck ready for the parade. Jeffery came over and put up the Marine Corps and Navy Flags.  Frank got the Lawn Mower out for Tina. Jeffrey put flags on Linda's and Di's bikes. Phil is getting his Bobcat ready. Deb and Mike are in Deb's Car. Mike is on his Motorcycle. Frank is on his Motorcycle. Lisa is on her Moped. We did 3 laps around the developments hooking our horns and having a good time.  On the last lap someone on a four wheeler joined in.  There was nothing but positive response from the development.  It seemed with each lap more people came out to watch and video tape the parade.  Pretty sure we all know what we are doing now for the 4th of July - Time to send out some post cards to the development to join in as we pass by their house.

So is it KISS or Everything Needs to be Tight?

So, for the last few weeks I have been testing the truck to see if it starts regularly and consistently.  I would start it some days and at different times during the day.  Sometimes I would let it sit for a few days and see what happens.  All the time - started right up - not a problem at all - guess that is what a tune up to the generator will do. Well, my Boo told me 3 days ago that the Argyle 4th of July Parade was cancelled - and that hurt.  So sitting around the fire the other night and with good social distancing - me and a few of the neighbors decided to have our own parade in the development this Memorial Day Weekend. Guess I better give the truck a test run and a bath before Monday's (tomorrow) Parade.  The truck started right up, got it out of the garage, and that was about it. Seemed like it was not getting any gas - sounds familiar, but anyways here goes: Took the fuel vacuum line off, cleaned out the few particles of dirt that were in there = nothing.

Reflectors and Painting

Image
Well, the doors are still in Alden, (30 miles East of Buffalo), and with no doors I decided to paint the wood under the truck bed and to clean up the reflectors that were attached to the bed in various places.  I was thinking of getting some new reflectors for the Truck but at anywhere from $80.00 - $150.00 a piece - and I have 5, Linda said - yeah you guessed it - NO. Before painting and cleaning pictures: After painting and cleaning: Gave it a little shine.
