Thanks Elaine for following! So pretty much for the Month of April we will have a very short commute to and from work. With us working from home for all of April I figured I would work on making some room in the garage. But the tricky part was I wasn't sure the truck would cooperate and start - it was a gamble - one that Boo said should wait. You see, I can push it out of the garage by myself, but need some help to push it up the ramp if it didn't start to drive it in the garage.  Saturday the 28th was a pretty nice day out - but it was supposed to rain in the afternoon. In order for me to have more room, I needed to put the ramp up and push the truck out I hooked up the battery after letting it charge all night, but when I turned the fuel line on, the  carburetor started leaking.  So I really didn't want to try and start it in the garage. Looks like I got some work to do All done Here comes the rain Here comes...

Gas Gauge

Image
How much Gas is Left in the Tank? I don't know - maybe that is why I ran out of gas on a few trips or when Jeffrey would come over and we would try to start it - He pretty much ended up saying  - "It seems like it is not getting any gas"  My reply was usually -  I put some in the other day. So there is no gas gauge in the truck - there is a gauge for AMPS and Oil Pressure. I have been using the wooden end of a small wire brush to see if there is any gas in the tank.  I never really researched the gas gauge part - until recently. You see the gas tank is right under the seat - like sitting on a bomb and with the doors that did not open or close properly I never really wanted to fill the tank up - 10 gallons. Figured it was safer with just a few gallons of gas in there - but when I did drive around - I had 1.5 gallons of gas on the bed with me. So my search began on where is the gauge, was I missing the gauge, what did they use t...

Not much has been going on in the world of the 1927 Chevrolet Truck and Miss Maple I have been busy slowly moving the blog posts to the following Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/mis.maple.5 Click on the link and become or request to be a friend. Don't worry - I won't get rid of the blog - I will still update the blog 1st and then post to Facebook So it has been a little over 2 months since my last blog update since then: I am a year older - not sure about wiser College work and working on the 2 spare bedrooms has kept me busy these last few months but every now and then I get a chance to research more on the truck. Miss Maple ate more stuff she shouldn't but she is all better. I picked the generator up on Thursday (5 March 2020) - Hoping to put it back in this weekend. The weather is getting warmer (near 60 this weekend) and staying lighter longer hoping to use this to walk Miss Maple more and to work on the truck ...

Generator and We have another Follower - 17 Followers

Image
I have been busy with a lot of my winter projects working on the truck - pretty exciting. But even better news!!! While we were in Alden for New Years Eve - we picked up another follower - my best friend growing up in Alden - Thanks Mark.  I am looking to have a total of 25 followers by the end of this year.  I know that blog following is not as easy as Face Booking but I am not really into taking pictures of my food and posting it or to take some survey about my favorite color or whatever. Okay back to the truck.  Jeffrey stopped by last night and he helped me take the generator out of the truck so that I can get it tested and cleaned up.   I was hoping there was a name tag on the generator so I knew exactly what one it was  - but I guess I will figure that out one day.  From research it is a Delco Remy 943B or 934J.  Hoping that after testing and some work on the generator that the truck will...

Passenger Door

Image
Took the passenger door off (27 December) and shipped it off to Eugene to work on along w/the driver side door. Thanks Eugene for helping me (again). Besides working on the doors, looks like there is some work to do w/the roof line also. But I think that is more of a next years project.
