1927 Chevrolet Truck and Miss Maple

Well - I have been asked a lot lately -  so I will just start out with - the button to donate some funds to help restore this 1927 is up and running - so hit that button as much as you like. ⇦👌👈 Yeah that button over there................... Okay - so sometime in October it was time to get the truck ready for winter - drained the gas, took out the battery and pushed it up the ramp and into the garage for winter.  It was kind of sad to see the end of the year coming, but it was also a good time to concentrate on 2019. So I took the horn, bottom windshield, driver side spotlight off and shipped them to my brother-in-law Eugene's house for some fixing during this down time. I took off the steering wheel, carburetor and took all back panels apart so that I can fix those items during the winter break.  Currently I have the carburetor all repaired and ready for spring installation.  Still working on the steering wheel.  I took all the back wood panels apart...

Wow - that about sums up the rest of 2018 - where did it go? I found it hardto keep everyone up to date on my progress with Miss Maple and of course the work on the 1927.  So here is a run down from September to 31 December 2018.  I will keep it short since I know most of my many followers won't read this if it is too long............................. Miss Maple had some surgery in November - she will never be a mother............................Sad...... On Christmas Day Miss Maple turned 1 Here is one of our 1st pictures of her. Miss Maple gave Grandma and Aunt Kathy a very nice self portrait for their dining room wall. Other than that for Miss Maple it has been just the regular chewing of toys, shoes and anything else that is left unattended for a few seconds - oh yeah and another pair of Linda's new glasses......Thank goodness for a back up pair......so far that is close to $1,000.00 in glasses that she has destroyed.  But she is oh so cute. ...

Went for a ride in the boat - still not a big fan of getting in the water, but maybe one day. The rest of the time I just hung out. The Bills - My Chair Dad's Chair Mom's Chair My Friends

Bed of the truck all cleaned off, camper moved and  the ramps were set up....... Seemed only fitting that Jeffrey should drive it out of the garage - after all - look at the smile on his face at the end.................Thanks again Jeffrey!! It is a good day - of course there are only 2 bolts holding in the starter - just need everything that is in the way of the starter removed or dismantled a little bit - so a 2 bolt job takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes.   Started up nicely............. Then it was time to clean off the back of the truck, move the camper and put up the ramps and don't forget to check the gas level.  Seems to be starting good - but then we know from the past that once it is up and running it will continue to start up - tomorrow will be the true test - but in the mean time.... What did my brother in law Eugene say about reverse and the parking brake and ???????? Better yet - what did the son of the owner say and mean about it being a DOUBLE CLUTCH???

Sunday - the 19th of August was a 4 Part Day The truck starts up sporadically or sometimes not at all - so as we - (someone had to take the pictures) were working on trying to get it running looks like it might be time for a new starter.................Funny thing about old vehicles and parts - you can find original parts on Ebay for say $239.00 - $300.00 with no guarantee that they will work - or you can just google the part and find a rebuilt one that will work for less. Thanks to the  Buckeye Auto Electric Company    They had 2 Delco-Remy 710-D starters and shipped one the day I called them. Okay, after this part - everything under the hood electrical is new - with the exception of the battery cables. Shouldn't take long - it is only 2 bolts holding the starter in - well that is what Jeffrey said.
